Aston Martin could use Mercedes engines

#EANF# Daimler, owners from the Mercedes-Benz brand, is reportedly in ‘early stage’ talks with Aston Martin about supplying components and dealing with the British car maker on technical assistance. The talks involve Aston Martin bosses and the 2 major shareholders, Investindustrial and also the Kuwaiti-listed Investment Dar. A Daimler spokeswoman was quoted as saying that no decisions about potential collaboration happen to be made, however that “both sides know and respect one another very much”. While buying in base engines from Mercedes is sensible, any future collaboration could go as much as platform sharing, using the current SLS supercar becoming an ideal potential candidate.
